Iranian FM to hold bilateral meetings during South Caucasus summit in Istanbul
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Istanbul on Friday to participate in the South Caucasus Regional Cooperation Platform, which is set to take place on October 18.
Leading an Iranian delegation, Araghchi will attend the third meeting of the platform, where regional cooperation and security issues will be discussed. The foreign minister is also expected to hold bilateral talks with other participants and senior Turkish officials during his visit.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that these meetings form part of the Islamic Republic’s ongoing diplomatic efforts concerning recent developments in Gaza and Lebanon. As part of his regional tour, Araghchi has visited Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Oman, Jordan, and Egypt for consultations aimed at halting Israeli military actions in the region.
Istanbul marks the ninth destination in Araghchi's tour, underscoring Iran's active diplomatic engagement in addressing regional conflicts and fostering cooperation among South Caucasus nations. (ILKHA)
