Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir pressures government to continue genocidal war in Gaza
Extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, on Tuesday reiterated his opposition to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, calling for a continued military offensive and opposing the entry of fuel into the blockaded enclave.
Ben-Gvir has previously threatened to withdraw from the Israeli government if a ceasefire agreement is reached.
Since the start of Israel's military aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2023, the Israeli government has imposed a complete blockade on the region, preventing the entry of food, fuel, medicine, and humanitarian aid. Ben-Gvir’s stance echoes his consistent calls for further military pressure on Gaza, including blocking fuel supplies.
In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli forces have carried out four massacres targeting Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 55 Palestinians and leaving 329 others injured, according to local medical reports.
Health authorities in Gaza reported that the Palestinian death toll from Israeli strikes since October 7 has surged to 42,344, with 99,013 individuals injured. The majority of those killed are women and children, underscoring the heavy toll on civilians in the ongoing conflict.
Emergency services continue to face significant challenges in reaching casualties and recovering bodies due to ongoing Israeli military operations. Ambulances and civil defense crews are frequently blocked from moving freely in the besieged region, leaving many injured and deceased people trapped under rubble or scattered in streets across the war-torn enclave.
