Türkiye to experience drop in temperatures and increased rainfall this week
According to the General Directorate of Meteorology of Türkiye, air temperatures across the country are set to fall below seasonal norms starting Thursday.
Weather forecasts indicate that today will be characterized by partly cloudy to very cloudy conditions nationwide. Showers and thundershowers are expected in the Taurus Mountains of the Eastern Mediterranean, the vicinity of Iskenderun Bay, the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions, the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, and around Sinop.
In addition, morning and evening hours may see haze and fog in the Marmara region, Central Aegean, inner parts of the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, and the inner areas of the Western Black Sea.
While temperatures in northern and eastern Türkiye are expected to remain around seasonal norms, other regions may see increases of 2 to 4 degrees above average. However, starting Thursday, a nationwide temperature drop of 5 to 6 degrees is anticipated, pushing some areas below seasonal norms.
Winds are expected to be predominantly light to moderate, blowing from the north across most of the country, while southern and eastern regions will experience light winds from the south. (ILKHA)
