Hamas: Israeli Airstrike on Gaza school part of "brutal genocidal war"
The Hamas Movement has denounced the Israeli airstrike on Mufti School in the an-Nuseirat refugee camp, central Gaza, describing it as part of Israel’s "brutal genocidal war" against the Palestinian people.
In a statement released on Monday, Hamas accused Israel of deliberately targeting civilians in residential areas and shelters.
"The occupation’s fascist policy is based on the deliberate targeting of civilians in residential neighborhoods and shelter centers," Hamas said in its statement, condemning the attack that killed 22 civilians, mostly children and women, and injured at least 80 others.
Hamas also noted that Israel's continued actions are enabled by the support of the United States and the international community’s silence. "The enemy would not have dared to continue its horrific massacres in the Gaza Strip or expand them in the region had it not been for the cover provided by the US administration and the international silence on these crimes," the group added.
The strike on the Mufti School, which was sheltering displaced families, is the latest in a series of attacks amid escalating violence in Gaza. Hamas called on the international community and the United Nations to take immediate action to stop the ongoing crimes and aggression against Palestinians.
The attack on the school marks another grim escalation in the conflict, as international organizations continue to express concern over the growing civilian toll in Gaza. (ILKHA)
