The missile attack is part of escalating cross-border hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, with Israel's Channel 12 reporting over 20 rockets were also fired into Israeli territory from southern Lebanon on the same day. Air raid sirens blared throughout multiple towns and villages in the region, prompting residents to rush to shelters.

Earlier reports from Army Radio stated that two Israelis had been injured by shrapnel from an anti-tank missile that hit Yar'on.

Israel has intensified its airstrikes across Lebanon since September 23, targeting what it claims are Hezbollah strongholds. The aerial bombardments have killed at least 1,351 people, injured over 3,800, and displaced more than 1.2 million, according to local authorities.

This latest surge in violence marks an escalation of the year-long cross-border conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which intensified following Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip. Since the start of the offensive, Israel has killed over 42,000 people in Gaza, many of whom are women and children, following a Hamas attack last year.

Despite growing international warnings of a potential regional war, Israel expanded its operations on October 1 by launching a ground incursion into southern Lebanon. (ILKHA)
