In its newly released report, the Commission claims that Israel’s actions amount to war crimes and the crime against humanity of extermination, citing relentless attacks on medical personnel and facilities.

"Israel must immediately stop its unprecedented wanton destruction of healthcare facilities in Gaza," said Navi Pillay, Chair of the Commission. She emphasized that targeting healthcare facilities directly threatens the right to health, with long-term, severe consequences for Gaza's civilian population. Pillay highlighted the devastating impact on children, who are suffering disproportionately due to the collapse of the healthcare system.

The report also addresses the detention of Palestinians in Israeli military camps and detention facilities, revealing widespread abuse of detainees. Thousands of children and adults, many of whom were arbitrarily detained, have been subjected to systematic physical and psychological violence, including sexual and gender-based violence. The Commission asserts that these actions amount to war crimes, including torture, rape, and other forms of sexual violence, and crimes against humanity.

The Commission’s findings have intensified international scrutiny over Israel’s genocidal aggression in Gaza, calling for immediate intervention to prevent further violations of international law. (ILKHA)
