Two Turkish naval vessels, TCG Bayraktar and TCG Sancaktar, arrived in Beirut on Wednesday, bringing 300 tons of humanitarian aid, including essential supplies for those affected by the conflict.

Following the aid delivery, the ships began boarding Turkish citizens, prioritizing elderly, disabled individuals, children, and infants.

Türkiye's Ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Barış Ulusoy, stated that the evacuation plan initially involves around 2,500 civilians but may expand depending on the deteriorating security situation.

Thousands of Turkish citizens, primarily residing in Beirut, have expressed a desire to leave Lebanon amid the escalating violence.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed this morning that the evacuation ships have departed for Türkiye, with their arrival expected in the Mediterranean city of Mersin later today.

The naval ships are being escorted by two frigates and two patrol boats to ensure the safe passage of evacuees. Onboard medical teams will provide health checks during the journey.

In addition to the naval evacuation, Turkish authorities are organizing limited flights from Beirut to Istanbul and Adana's Çukurova airports. The embassy has urged citizens to register for these flights through the consulate's call center. (ILKHA)
