In a statement shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Erdoğan accused Israel of carrying out a "genocide" and warned that the country would eventually face consequences.

“Israel will sooner or later pay the price for this genocide that it has been carrying out for a year and is still continuing,” Erdoğan wrote.

Reflecting on the events of the past year, Erdoğan said that since October 7, 2023, tens of thousands of civilians, including women and children, had been killed in Gaza. He emphasized that not only people, but also the values and institutions meant to serve humanity, were being destroyed.

“Today is October 7th... Exactly 365 days ago, 50,000 of our brothers and sisters who were alive, most of them children and women, were brutally massacred. Hospitals, places of worship of different faiths, schools in Gaza are no longer standing. Many journalists, representatives of non-governmental organizations, peace envoys are no longer with us,” the statement read.

Erdoğan also extended his condolences to the Palestinian, Gazan, and Lebanese families who had lost loved ones, stating that Israel’s actions were undermining the hopes of humanity for a peaceful future.

He went on to compare Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, warning that the international community must act to stop what he called a "murder network."

"Just as Hitler was stopped by the common alliance of humanity, Netanyahu and his murder network will be stopped in the same way," Erdoğan asserted.

Türkiye's president reiterated his country’s commitment to opposing Israel's actions, calling for global unity in holding the Israeli government accountable.

“There will be no peace in a world where the Gaza genocide is not held to account. As Türkiye, we will continue to stand against the Israeli government no matter what the cost and call the world to this honorable stance,” he concluded. (ILKHA)
