Hezbollah reaffirms full support for Palestinian resistance
The Lebanese group reaffirmed its full support for Palestinian efforts to reclaim their land and rights, describing the operation as a "heroic moment" with significant historical and strategic implications for the region.
"The Palestinian people have the full right to resist the occupation by all means to restore their legitimate rights and remove the occupation," the statement declared. Hezbollah also accused Israel of ongoing "brutality and savagery," especially in Gaza, where tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed amid widespread destruction.
Hezbollah portrayed Israel as a "fragile" state, asserting that it could not survive without U.S. support, while condemning the United States and its allies for what it described as complicity in the suffering of Palestinians and Lebanese citizens. "There is no place for this temporary Zionist entity in our region," Hezbollah said, characterizing Israel as a "cancerous entity" that must be removed.
The statement further commended the resilience of the Palestinian people despite a year of hardship, and praised fighters in Yemen, Iraq, and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their continued support of the Palestinian cause. Hezbollah highlighted Iran's missile strikes on Israel as a "significant contribution" to the ongoing confrontation.
Defending its decision to open a new front against Israel on October 8, 2023, Hezbollah said it was a necessary show of solidarity with Palestinian fighters and a defense of Lebanon. The group acknowledged the toll the conflict has taken on Lebanon, including civilian displacement, property destruction, and Israeli military aggression, but expressed confidence in its ability to repel further attacks.
"The era of defeats is over," the statement concluded. "The victory of God has arrived." (ILKHA)
