According to Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO), the initial toll reports at least 24 civilians killed and 93 others injured, predominantly women and children.

The GMO stated that the IOF committed two brutal massacres by targeting the Shuhada al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibn Rushd School, where hundreds of displaced individuals had sought refuge. Medical sources reported that several bodies of children arrived at Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital with their heads severed, alongside numerous others suffering serious injuries.

Faced with an overwhelming influx of trauma patients, doctors at the hospital are struggling to manage the crisis. Many serious cases are being treated in the hospital’s corridors, on floors, and even outside, as the facility grapples with severe staff shortages and a lack of surgical resources. Limb amputations have become a last resort to save lives.

Earlier on Saturday evening, the Israeli army conducted numerous aerial and artillery strikes on Beit Lahia and Jabalia in northern Gaza, resulting in additional civilian casualties and further displacing residents. A reporter from the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) indicated that Israeli warplanes executed over 50 strikes on homes, civilian gatherings, agricultural lands, and streets in the eastern parts of Jabalia and northwestern Beit Lahia.

Local media reports suggested that the intensity of these attacks prompted many civilians to evacuate their neighborhoods in Beit Lahia and Gaza City, amid initial indications of a large-scale ground operation by the IOF in northern Gaza.

In a separate incident, the IOF targeted a truck and a group of civilians attempting to assist the wounded driver near the Jabalia Services Club. Following this, another airstrike struck the club’s building, which was sheltering thousands of displaced citizens, resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries.

As the situation continues to escalate, humanitarian organizations have raised concerns about the safety of civilians and the urgent need for medical assistance in the besieged region. (ILKHA)
