20 Palestinian killed in Israeli airstrike on Tulkarem refugee camp
At least 20 people have been killed by Israel’s aerial attack on the Tulkarem refugee camp, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Thursday evening.
The strike targeted a popular café in the Al-Hamam neighborhood within the Ain Shams camp, located in Tulkarem, northern West Bank.
In a brief statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that its teams had recovered 20 bodies from the site of the bombing. Many of the victims were transported to Tulkarem Governmental Hospital for treatment and identification.
This attack is reportedly the first aerial bombing of Tulkarem since the second intifada, according to Israeli media sources. The sources further suggested that the airstrike aimed to assassinate Ghaith Radwan, a prominent resistance fighter and leader of the Tulkarem Battalion.
The situation remains tense, with fears of further escalation following the deadly assault. (ILKHA)
