The safe internet service, which was launched in 2011, offers two main profiles—child and family—to protect users from harmful online content. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the service is free, demand-driven, and provided as an alternative access option by internet service providers.

“The majority of users, 99.5%, have chosen the family profile," Uraloğlu stated. "While the number of subscribers stood at 44 million in April, it has now reached 46.3 million by the end of August."

He explained that the service was developed in response to concerns raised by families about inappropriate content on the internet. The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) had received numerous complaints, which influenced the development of the secure internet service.

The primary aim of the service, Uraloğlu noted, is to protect users, particularly children, from harmful content such as violence, racism, and hate speech. "It offers an alternative for those who prefer not to encounter objectionable material online," he added.

Uraloğlu also highlighted that users can immediately report any issues they face while using the service and request solutions. The service is continuously being improved based on user feedback and suggestions to ensure its effectiveness in providing a safer online experience.

This growth in users underscores the increasing demand for a safer internet environment, especially for families concerned about the content their children may encounter online. (ILKHA)
