Türkiye prepares evacuation plans for citizens in Lebanon
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a press release outlining evacuation plans for Turkish citizens in Lebanon, citing concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the country.
In coordination with relevant Turkish institutions, alternative plans have been established for the potential evacuation of citizens by sea or air. The ministry announced that a "Coordination and Support Center" is now operational to oversee the evacuation process.
Additionally, a delegation, including officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate General of Security, and the Presidency of Migration Management, is currently on the ground in Lebanon.
Turkish citizens in Lebanon who wish to register for a potential evacuation can apply through the Consulate Call Center, available 24 hours a day at +90 312 292 29 29.
The Ministry also advised Turkish nationals in Lebanon to stay updated on the situation and follow guidance provided by the Turkish Embassy in Beirut regarding possible evacuation procedures.
Furthermore, Türkiye has identified guidelines for assisting with the evacuation of citizens from third countries via its territory. Preparations for this support are underway, in cooperation with nearly 20 nations that have requested assistance.
The Turkish government is closely monitoring the situation and remains committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens and assisting others as needed. (ILKHA)
