Iran and Oman hold first-ever joint ground military exercise
The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman commenced their first joint ground military exercise, "Mountain Falcons 1" (Saqour al-Jabal 1), on Monday in the Jebel Al-Khader province of Oman.
This marks a significant milestone in military cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
The drill involves the ground forces of both Iran and Oman, with support from Oman's Air Force and Royal Police. The exercise focuses on sharing combat experiences, enhancing joint training, and improving combat and operational readiness.
This collaboration follows a prior joint naval drill on November 30, 2023, held in the northern Indian Ocean and the Strait of Hormuz. That exercise included both nations' naval forces and aimed to improve maritime security and readiness in the Persian Gulf.
The "Mountain Falcons 1" drill underscores the growing military ties between Iran and Oman, particularly in the strategic Persian Gulf region. (ILKHA)
