Israeli Airstrikes kill at least 19 civilians in Gaza
At least 19 civilians were killed and numerous others injured in the early hours of Tuesday as Israeli airstrikes hit the Nuseirat camp and a school sheltering displaced families in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza City, according to local sources.
In the Nuseirat refugee camp, located in central Gaza, 12 civilians, most of them women and children, were killed when two residential buildings were targeted by Israeli forces. A three-story house belonging to the Al-Durrah family was destroyed in the attack, leading to the deaths of seven children and three women. Two additional women were killed in a separate airstrike on a home belonging to the Abu Ataya family in the same camp.
Simultaneously, in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, seven civilians lost their lives when Israeli airstrikes struck Shuja'iyya school, which was sheltering displaced individuals. Many others were wounded in the attack, and reports indicate that more citizens, including children, were killed when an airstrike hit a residential apartment in the city's old quarter.
Further Israeli artillery bombardments targeted civilian vehicles stationed near the Kuwait roundabout and the University College area in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City. Additionally, residential buildings in the southern city of Rafah were blown up by Israeli forces, while artillery shells rained down on the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods.
The escalating violence has pushed the death toll in Gaza to at least 41,615, with the majority of the victims being women and children. Local health authorities have reported that thousands of victims remain trapped under the rubble, as Israeli forces continue to block ambulances and civil defense crews from accessing affected areas.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens by the day as indiscriminate airstrikes and artillery fire target civilian infrastructure, leaving much of the population vulnerable amid the ongoing conflict. (ILKHA)
