Sudan: Death toll from cholera outbreak reaches 473
The death toll from the ongoing cholera outbreak in Sudan has tragically reached 473, according to the Sudanese Health Ministry.
The ministry also reported a total of 14,944 cholera cases in the country.
Heavy rains and floods that have plagued Sudan since June have exacerbated the spread of cholera, contributing to the rising number of infections and fatalities.
Sudanese authorities declared cholera an epidemic on August 12th in response to the worsening situation.
Health officials continue to warn of the urgent need for medical supplies and sanitation measures to combat the spread of the disease, as the situation remains critical in many affected areas. (ILKHA)
