Turkish Coast Guard rescues 27 irregular migrants off Aegean coast
The Turkish Coast Guard successfully rescued 27 irregular migrants, including 7 children, from a rubber boat that had experienced engine failure off the coast of Muğla's Marmaris district.
In a swift response to a distress call, coast guard teams were dispatched to the area and promptly rescued the migrants, who were adrift due to the malfunctioning boat.
Following the rescue operation, authorities detained four individuals suspected of being involved in migrant smuggling. The apprehended suspects are currently in custody, facing charges related to their alleged involvement in the illegal transportation of migrants.
The rescued migrants were subsequently transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing and assistance. (ILKHA)
