Türkiye expresses condolences following deadly mine accident in Iran
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has expressed its condolences following a tragic mine accident in South Khorasan Province, Iran, which has claimed numerous lives and left several others injured.
In an official statement, the ministry said: "We are saddened by the loss of many lives and injuries as a result of a mine accident in the city of Tabas in South Khorasan province of Iran."
The statement further conveyed Türkiye’s sympathies to the people of Iran, adding: "We wish Allah's mercy upon those who lost their lives in the mine accident, a speedy recovery to the injured, and extend our heartfelt condolences to the people of Iran."
The ministry also expressed hope that the ongoing rescue efforts will succeed in saving those trapped in the mine, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
The accident, caused by a methane gas explosion, occurred on Saturday night and has led to a significant loss of life, with rescue operations continuing under challenging conditions. (ILKHA)
