Israeli airstrike on Gaza school leaves 21 dead, dozens injured
In a devastating airstrike on Saturday afternoon, the Israeli occupation forces bombed a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 21 civilians and injuring dozens more.
The attack targeted al-Falah School in the az-Zeitoun neighborhood, located south of Gaza City, where most victims were women and children.
Local sources confirmed that Israeli warplanes launched the airstrike, which caused significant casualties. Medical personnel at Ahli Hospital, where many of the injured were evacuated, reported severe cases, including amputations. At least nine children lost their limbs in the attack, while many others remain in critical condition.
One particularly tragic image that emerged from the scene was of a paramedic carrying the body of a fetus, a heartbreaking consequence of the death of a pregnant woman in the bombing.
Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned the strike, calling it a “horrific massacre.” In a statement, they reported that the airstrike killed 21 civilians, including 13 children and six women, as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen amidst ongoing military escalation. (ILKHA)
