ITTIHADUL ULEMA to host 9th scholars' meeting in Diyarbakır
The Union of Scholars and Madrasahs (ITTIHADUL ULEMA) has announced that it will organize the 9th annual “Meeting of Scholars” in Diyarbakır on October 5-6, 2024.
Islamic scholars from various Islamic countries, including Türkiye, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Afghanistan, and others, will participate in the event.
This year’s gathering will focus on the theme: "Aqsa Flood, Ummah and Ulema's Responsibility: Gaza, the Honor of the Ummah", according to a press statement delivered by Mullah Muhammed Özer, Secretary General of ITTIHADUL ULEMA. The event will take place at the Saladin Ayyubi Mosque Complex Conference Hall in Diyarbakır's Yenişehir district.
Speaking about the conference, Özer said, "In this year's gathering, which we will organize for the 9th time, the plight of Jerusalem and the ongoing massacres in Gaza by the Israeli occupation regime, which have intensified over the last year, will be at the forefront of discussions." He added that the role of the Islamic Ummah and the Ulema in addressing these challenges will be a central topic, with scholars sharing their insights and solutions.
The gathering will conclude with a final declaration, summarizing the scholars’ recommendations and strategies for addressing the current crises in the Islamic world, particularly regarding Gaza and Jerusalem.
Mullah Özer concluded his remarks with a message of hope, praying that the event will serve as a positive step towards resolving the issues facing the global Muslim community. (ILKHA)
