North Korea fires multiple ballistic missiles into Sea of Japan
North Korea launched multiple ballistic missiles early Wednesday, with no damage reported to aircraft or vessels, according to the Japanese government.
The missiles, believed to have landed outside Japan's exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan, were launched around 6:53 a.m. and 7:23 a.m. from an inland location, Japan’s Defense Ministry stated.
South Korea's military confirmed the launches, noting that North Korea fired short-range ballistic missiles northeastward from the Kaechon area in South Phyongan Province near Pyongyang. The missiles reportedly traveled approximately 400 kilometers before falling into the sea.
This missile launch adds to the ongoing tension in the region, though no immediate damage or casualties have been reported. Both Japan and South Korea continue to monitor the situation closely. (ILKHA)
