The missile attack comes amidst heightened conflict between Israel and Palestinian resistance movements, with Yemen openly declaring support for Palestine.

According to Israeli military reports, the surface-to-surface missile fired from Yemen hit an unpopulated area in central Israel.

Air raid sirens were heard throughout Tel Aviv and across central Israel, prompting residents to seek shelter. Although the missile did not cause any injuries or damage, some local media reports suggest it may have landed near an airport in Tel Aviv, intensifying concerns over the vulnerability of Israel’s air defense systems.

Yemeni Armed Forces have openly declared their support for Palestine amid the ongoing Israeli military offensive on Gaza, which began on October 7 following a surprise retaliatory attack by Palestinian resistance movements, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. Yemeni forces have vowed to continue their missile strikes until Israel ceases its ground and aerial operations in Gaza, which have reportedly resulted in over 40,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 100,000 injuries.

The missile attack from Yemen marks a significant escalation in the conflict, as Yemenis have aligned themselves with Palestinian resistance in defiance of Israeli military actions. The United States and Britain have also become increasingly involved, announcing a military coalition in December aimed at targeting Yemen in support of Israel.

The situation remains volatile as regional tensions continue to rise, with further attacks possible in the coming days. (ILKHA)
