The Shuhada Az-Zaytoun School, which had been turned into a shelter for displaced families, was hit by Israeli fighter jets amidst ongoing military aggression in the Gaza Strip. According to reports, this brings the total number of accommodation centers targeted by Israeli forces to 172 since the conflict began on October 7, with 152 of these being schools used as shelters.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces issued new evacuation orders to Palestinians in several neighborhoods, including Al-Mansiya, Sheikh Zayed, and Mashrou' Beit Lahia, labeling the areas as "dangerous combat zones."

The ongoing Israeli genocide has faced condemnation, including from the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which issued a legally binding order for Israel to halt its military actions in Rafah. Critics claim the offensive violates the Genocide Convention.

Since the onset of the conflict, at least 41,182 Palestinians have been killed, with over 95,280 others injured. Additionally, approximately 10,000 people remain unaccounted for, presumed trapped under the rubble of their homes.

International and Palestinian organizations report that the majority of the casualties are women and children. The war has also displaced nearly two million Palestinians, forcing many into the densely populated southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking the largest mass displacement of Palestinians since the 1948 Nakba.
