Chinese defense minister urges end to double standards in global conflict resolution
Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun has called for an end to double standards in addressing Ukraine and the Middle East conflicts.
Speaking at the opening of the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, he emphasized that peace negotiations and political solutions are the only viable paths to ending the Ukrainian conflict and the Israeli-Palestinian tensions. He stated that fairness and neutrality are essential for resolving these crises.
Dong Jun warned against prioritizing geopolitical interests over justice and urged a deeper understanding of the root causes behind these conflicts to find lasting solutions. He stressed that applying consistent principles and avoiding selective approaches is key to achieving peace.
The forum, which runs from September 12-14 under the theme "Promoting Peace for a Shared Future," is held annually in Beijing. The forum, organized by the China Association of Military Science and the China Institute of International Strategic Studies, focuses on fostering openness, equality, and collaboration in global security discussions.
