Turkish Coast Guard rescues 84 migrants pushed back by Greece
The Turkish Coast Guard has rescued a total of 84 irregular migrants who were forcibly pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek authorities in five separate incidents.
Four of the incidents occurred off the coast of Seferihisar district in Izmir, where 84 migrants were brought ashore. In another operation, 86 migrants were captured off the coast of Muğla and Izmir.
Additionally, two suspected migrant smugglers were detained during a rescue operation off the coast of Fethiye district in Muğla.
All rescued migrants were subsequently transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing. (ILKHA)
