Türkiye detains 27 ISIS suspects in nationwide operations
Turkish security forces have apprehended 27 suspects in a series of İzmir-based operations targeting ISIS across 13 provinces, the authorities announced on Tuesday.
The operations were conducted as part of an investigation led by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office’s Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau. Arrest warrants were issued for 30 individuals accused of providing financial support to the ISIS organization.
Simultaneous raids took place in the provinces of İzmir, Ankara, Sakarya, Kocaeli, İstanbul, Erzincan, Konya, Malatya, Mardin, Eskişehir, Bitlis, Gaziantep, and Adana.
So far, 27 suspects have been detained, while efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend the remaining three individuals still at large.
The authorities continue their investigation into the group's financial networks and support activities. (ILKHA)
