Hamas official: Netanyahu obstructing ceasefire agreement

He warned that Israeli captives will not be released unless pressure is applied on Netanyahu to adhere to the agreed terms.

Al-Resheq rejected Netanyahu’s new conditions for the ceasefire, stating that they would "bring us back to square one." He further dismissed claims made by Israeli and American sources that Hamas had introduced new demands, labeling them as false and part of an effort to deflect responsibility for the stalled negotiations.

The Hamas leader's comments come amid reports from the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, which suggested that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director had recently held talks with Israel, Qatar, and Egypt to modify details of a potential prisoner exchange deal.

According to Haaretz, a senior U.S. official indicated that the likelihood of reaching an agreement was already slim, with Netanyahu’s statements further reducing the chances.

Netanyahu, meanwhile, has maintained his stance on the ongoing military campaign in Gaza, which has resulted in over 135,000 deaths and injuries, according to Palestinian sources. (ILKHA)
