Six bodies believed to be missing migrants recovered off Italy’s coast
Six decomposed bodies, believed to be of migrants who went missing after a shipwreck, were recovered off the coast of Sicily, Italy, on Sunday, according to local media reports.
The bodies were found near the island of Sicily, which is located off the southwestern tip of the Italian mainland.
The bodies were transported to the island of Lampedusa, situated approximately 350 kilometers (217 miles) away. Italian officials suspect the victims were aboard a boat that sank earlier in the week in Libyan waters.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, with further efforts being made to identify the victims and determine the full details surrounding the shipwreck. (ILKHA)
