Narin Güran laid to rest as investigation into her death continues
The body of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who was found dead in a sack by a stream 19 days after her disappearance, was buried on Sunday in her village in Diyarbakır.
Narin, who had gone missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district, was discovered lifeless in Eğertutmaz Creek.
Following an 11-hour autopsy, Narin's body was handed over to her family. She was transported to the neighboring village of Batı Karakoç in a convoy, where a funeral ceremony was held. Attendees included Diyarbakır Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, representatives of political parties and NGOs, as well as many local citizens. The funeral prayer was led by Provincial Mufti.
Narin was buried in the cemetery of Tavşantepe village, where laments accompanied the solemn ceremony.
The Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues its investigation into her death. Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced that the number of individuals in custody in connection with the case has risen to 24.
Minister Tunç also stated that extensive forensic examinations, including chemical, biological, and pathological tests, are being conducted. He assured the public that all details surrounding Narin’s death are being thoroughly investigated, and those responsible will be brought to justice. (ILKHA)
