Yemen reaffirms commitment to pro-Palestinian operations amid Israeli genocide in Gaza
Yemen has reiterated its unwavering commitment to continue supporting Palestine in protest of Israel's ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.
During a ceremony on Saturday, Yemen’s Defense Minister, Major General Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi, emphasized that there will be no hesitation or retreat from the country's stance in favor of Gaza.
"Hesitation or retreat from Yemen's supportive stance towards Gaza is impossible and not subject to negotiation or compromise," said al-Atifi. He further warned Israel, referring to it as the "Nazi entity," that Yemen’s response would be strong and decisive, asserting that Yemeni forces are ready to meet Israeli "madness" with their own strength, which Israel "has tasted in the seas."
The Defense Minister also highlighted Yemen’s efforts to enhance its military capabilities both "quantitatively and qualitatively," stating that the country is progressing in line with modern military concepts.
Yemen has vocally supported Palestine since Israel launched its genocidal aggression in Gaza on October 7, following a surprise retaliatory attack by Palestinian Resistance movements. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 40,939 people and injuries to 94,616 individuals in Gaza due to Israeli ground and aerial offensives.
In addition, Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until the Israeli offensive ceases. The United States and Britain recently announced a military coalition in December to target Yemen in support of Israel.
