Typhoon Yagi leaves trail of destruction in Vietnam
Typhoon Yagi, one of the strongest storms recorded this year, has caused significant damage in northern Vietnam.
The typhoon, which made landfall from southern China and the Philippines, has claimed at least nine lives and injured 187 people.
The northern provinces of Hoa Binh, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and the port city of Hai Phong were particularly hard hit.
The typhoon brought winds exceeding 149 km/h, uprooting thousands of trees and causing widespread damage to infrastructure.
Vietnam's weather agency reported that the typhoon's wind speed has decreased since it passed over the southern Chinese island of Hainan. Yagi, which means "goat" in Japanese, is expected to continue its path towards Laos. (ILKHA)
