Erdogan welcomes Egyptian President Sisi for official visit to Ankara
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Ankara on Wednesday for an official visit, marking a significant step in the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
President Sisi's plane, accompanied by a delegation, landed at Esenboga Airport, where he was greeted by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Ankara Governor Vasip Sahin, and other high-ranking officials. President Erdogan personally led the welcoming ceremony.
Following the arrival, Erdogan and Sisi proceeded to the Presidential Complex, where they held a bilateral meeting. The two leaders are set to co-chair the inaugural session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Türkiye and Egypt, a key forum aimed at enhancing strategic ties between the nations.
In addition, Erdogan and Sisi will attend an agreement-signing ceremony and hold a joint press conference. Sisi's visit to Türkiye comes at the invitation of President Erdogan, signaling a renewed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. (ILKHA)
