Russian ballistic missiles strike Ukraine’s Poltava: 51 dead, 271 injured
Russian forces launched two ballistic missiles targeting the city of Poltava, resulting in the deaths of at least 51 people and injuring 271, according to the latest reports from President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The missiles struck the Military Institute of Communications and a nearby medical facility, causing significant damage. President Zelensky confirmed that the educational institution's building was partially destroyed in the assault.
"The time interval between the alarm and the arrival of the deadly missiles was so short that it caught people during an evacuation to the bomb shelter," the Defense Ministry reported, highlighting the suddenness of the attack.
Rescue operations are ongoing as many people remain trapped under the rubble. Emergency responders and medical teams are working tirelessly at the scene to save those still buried beneath the debris.
This attack marks one of the most severe in recent weeks, further escalating the conflict and drawing widespread condemnation. (ILKHA)
