In a post shared on his social media account, Altun highlighted the dire situation, describing it as one of the most harrowing periods in human history.

"Gaza is currently experiencing one of the darkest periods in human history," Altun stated. "For 333 days, relentless attacks have reduced cities to rubble. The occupying Israeli forces are bombarding mosques, churches, schools, and hospitals without regard for humanitarian concerns, intentionally and systematically targeting journalists who are trying to document the grave human tragedy unfolding in the region."

Altun emphasized the severe deprivation facing the people of Gaza, noting that children, women, the elderly, and innocent civilians are being denied access to clean water, food, and healthcare. "The people of Gaza are facing genocide in front of the entire world," he said.

He called for the international community to unite in response to what he termed as "brutality," stressing that the ongoing crisis should deeply trouble the conscience of all humanity. "This genocide should deeply trouble the conscience of all humanity, not just the people of Gaza. The international community must unite and respond to this brutality, which has lasted 333 days."

Altun concluded his message with a plea for collective action to end the suffering and protect the lives of children in Gaza. "We must all work together to put an end to this tragedy and ensure the safety of children. Disregarding the situation in Gaza is the same as being complicit in this persecution. We must speak out strongly against this genocide in the name of justice and humanity."

The statement comes as the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with widespread calls for immediate humanitarian intervention. (ILKHA)
