Brigadier-General Saree stated that the attack was a reaction to the ship owner's breach of a ban on entering ports in occupied Palestine. The leader of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, also spoke out against the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank. In his weekly address, al-Houthi condemned what he described as Israel's efforts to reshape the situation in Palestine under the protection of the United States. He criticized the severe conditions imposed on Palestinians in Gaza, accusing Israel of targeting civilian areas, including cities, camps, and hospitals.

Al-Houthi also warned against recent Israeli plans to build a Jewish synagogue within the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, calling it a provocation that should be met with resistance by Muslims worldwide. He argued that remaining silent in the face of such actions would be seen as a sign of submission and abandonment of faith.

In addition to the strike on BLUE LAGOON I, al-Houthi revealed that Yemeni naval forces carried out a significant operation against the vessel Sounion. He stated that Yemeni forces boarded the ship, rigged it with explosives, and successfully destroyed its cargo, further demonstrating Yemen's commitment to supporting the Palestinian resistance.
