Speaking at the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Cameroon, Muttaqi emphasized that the ongoing freezing of Afghanistan's funds has impeded economic development and hindered regional trade. He questioned the fairness of international practices that require permission from the United Nations for a host country to invite a foreign minister, suggesting such measures undermine the fairness of the international order.

Muttaqi also called on OIC member states to forge economic and trade partnerships with Afghanistan, highlighting the country's strategic location, rich natural resources, and potential for regional connectivity and investment. He stressed that Afghanistan’s unique attributes, including its affordable and industrious workforce and its security, present significant opportunities for regional collaboration.

The Minister’s appeal underscores the broader efforts of the Islamic Emirate to integrate more fully into the international economic system and leverage its resources for mutual benefit within the region. (ILKHA)
