Three Israeli police officers were killed, and others were injured in a shooting on Route 35 near the Tarqumiyah military checkpoint in the southern West Bank.
Three Israeli police officers were killed in a shooting operation in the southern West Bank governorate of al-Khalil (Hebron) on Sunday morning. The attack occurred on Route 35, east of the Tarqumiyah military checkpoint, according to reports from Hebrew media outlets.
Following the shooting, Israeli media reported a heightened security alert in the area. Military reinforcements were dispatched to the scene as authorities scrambled to secure the location.
The shooting operation took place amid ongoing Israeli military operations in the northern West Bank governorates of Jenin, Tulkarm, and Tubas, where tensions have been escalating due to continued Israeli incursions into several cities and towns across the West Bank.
According to local reports, the Palestinians responsible for the attack successfully withdrew from the scene. In response, Israeli authorities launched a large-scale search operation to locate the assailants. As part of these efforts, Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Idhna, amid heightened security across the region. (ILKHA)
