Israeli fighter jets launched airstrikes on the at-Tuffah neighborhood, located east of Gaza City. According to local sources, the strikes targeted a residential house, resulting in the deaths of several civilians and leaving others injured.

In addition to the strike on at-Tuffah, Israeli jets targeted a residential compound near Ad-Durra Hospital in the same neighborhood. Other airstrikes and artillery shelling were reported in Gaza City and the area east of the Jabalia refugee camp.

The Israeli offensive, which has been ongoing since October 7, has led to widespread devastation across the Gaza Strip. Palestinian and international organizations report that at least 40,691 Palestinians have been killed, and over 94,060 others injured in the conflict. The majority of the casualties are believed to be women and children.

Furthermore, approximately 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed to be trapped under the rubble of their destroyed homes throughout the Strip.

The conflict has also resulted in the mass displacement of nearly two million people from various parts of Gaza. Most of the displaced population has been forced into the densely populated southern city of Rafah, near the Egyptian border. This mass exodus is considered the largest since the 1948 Nakba.

The ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza have drawn widespread condemnation, particularly in light of a legally binding decision by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordering Israel to halt its military offensive in Rafah. The ICJ ruling cited potential violations of Israel’s obligations under the Genocide Convention. Despite the ruling, Israel has continued its military campaign, drawing further criticism from the international community.

The conflict between Israel and Gaza has escalated significantly since October 7, leading to one of the deadliest and most destructive periods in the region’s history. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached critical levels, with the international community calling for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian assistance for the affected population. (ILKHA)
