5.2-magnitude earthquake shakes Indonesia's Papua province
A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 struck Indonesia's eastern Papua province on Saturday afternoon.
The quake, which occurred at 3:53 p.m. local time (0853 GMT), had its epicenter located 81 kilometers northwest of Keerom Regency at a depth of 93 kilometers.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of damage or casualties in the affected areas, according to local authorities.
Indonesia, which is situated on the Pacific Ring of Fire, is prone to seismic activity due to its location in this seismically active region. (ILKHA)
