In a statement posted on X, Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye's commitment to helping "our friend and brother, Bangladesh" during these difficult times.

The aid efforts are being coordinated by Türkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), with support from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and several Turkish NGOs. Erdoğan revealed that Türkiye has begun distributing 16,750 aid packages, focusing on areas most severely impacted by the disaster, especially where road access has been cut off.

Erdoğan expressed solidarity with the Bangladeshi people, vowing not to leave them "alone" in their time of need. He also extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the floods and wished a swift recovery for the injured.

Local reports indicate that the recent floods in eastern Bangladesh have claimed at least 23 lives and displaced thousands, with an estimated 5.17 million people affected by the disaster. (ILKHA)
