Ukraine warns Belarus of troop buildup on border
Ukraine issued a stern warning to its neighbor Belarus on Sunday, accusing it of concentrating troops near their shared border.

The foreign ministry statement came amidst Ukraine's ongoing counteroffensive against Russia and as Moscow continues its advance in eastern Ukraine.
Belarus, an ally of Russia, allowed Russian forces to use its territory as a launchpad for the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Belarus is now building up a significant number of troops in the Gomel region, near Ukraine's northern border.
Ukraine warned Belarus against taking any hostile actions, citing the presence of Wagner mercenaries, who are stationed in Belarus after a failed rebellion last year. The foreign ministry also expressed concern about military exercises near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, emphasizing the global security threat posed by such activities.
Despite the accusations, Ukraine reiterated that it has no intention of harming the Belarusian people. The Belarusian government has not yet responded to the Ukrainian warning. (ILKHA)
