Landslide in central Nepal claims six lives, leaves four missing
A landslide triggered by heavy rainfall swept away three houses in central Nepal early Sunday morning, leaving six people dead and four others missing.
The disaster occurred in Shailung Rural Municipality of Ramechhap district at around 3:00 AM local time. One person was also injured in the incident.
Rescue teams are searching for the missing people, according to local authorities. Additionally, a bridge over a local stream was swept away by floods, making it difficult for residents to commute with other parts of the district.
Monsoon rain-related disasters have caused significant damage in Nepal, with a total of 195 deaths, 247 injuries, and 49 missing persons reported as of Friday. (ILKHA)
