At least 22 dead in Pakistan bus crash
At least 22 people were killed when a bus plunged into a ravine near the town of Azad Pattan on Sunday.
The accident occurred on the border between Punjab province and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Rescue officials reported that 15 men, six women, and one child were among the deceased. Road accidents with high fatalities are common in Pakistan due to lax safety measures, poor driver training, and decrepit transport infrastructure.
Just a day earlier, the bodies of 28 Pakistani pilgrims who died in a bus crash in Iran were returned to Pakistan.
The bus, carrying 51 pilgrims to Iraq for the Arbaeen commemoration, overturned and caught fire in Yazd province on Tuesday night. (ILKHA)
