Yemeni army strikes Greek-flagged tanker in Red Sea
The Yemeni army has released footage of its attack on the Greek-flagged oil products tanker "Sounion" in the Red Sea.
The attack was in retaliation for the tanker's violation of a law prohibiting entry to occupied Palestinian ports.
In a previous statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they had targeted the "Sounion," which they claimed belongs to a company collaborating with the Israeli enemy. The attack reportedly resulted in the sinking of the tanker.
The Yemeni army reiterated its warning to ships and companies that violate the law prohibiting movement to occupied Palestinian ports, stating that they will face severe consequences. Additionally, they called on all ships traveling through the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Indian Ocean to ensure their navigation systems are not tampered with to avoid suspicion.
Yemen has been a vocal supporter of Palestine's struggle against Israeli occupation, particularly since the recent war on Gaza. The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to continue their attacks until the Israeli offensive ends.
In December, the United States and Britain announced the formation of a military coalition to target Yemen in support of Israel. (ILKHA)
