The meeting was attended by Mohammad Darwish, Chairman of the Hamas Shura Council, along with a delegation from Hamas, and Ziyad al-Nakhalah, PIJ Secretary-General, who was accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Mohammad al-Hindi.

Both groups expressed their deep appreciation for the resilience of the Palestinian people in Gaza, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing Israeli military actions. The leaders called for an immediate halt to the violence and urged that Israeli leaders be held accountable for what they described as crimes against humanity.

During the discussions, the leaders reviewed the current situation on the ground, particularly focusing on the effectiveness of the Resistance in striking targets throughout occupied Palestine. They also expressed frustration with the Israeli government's stance in indirect negotiations, accusing Israel of obstructing mediation efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

The leaders reiterated that any agreement must include a complete cessation of hostilities, the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the start of reconstruction efforts, and the lifting of the blockade. They emphasized that a serious prisoner exchange deal is also crucial. The groups blamed Israeli leaders for derailing a ceasefire proposal that Hamas had reportedly agreed to on July 2.

Additionally, the meeting highlighted the urgent need to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and essential supplies to Gaza's residents, regardless of the ongoing negotiations. The leaders warned of the severe consequences if the collective punishment of Gaza's population continues. (ILKHA)
