Iranian parliament confirms President Pezeshkian's cabinet in vote of confidence
All of President Masoud Pezeshkian's proposed ministers won the Iranian parliament's vote of confidence on Wednesday, following days of debate and review.
During the final session, which was attended by 285 lawmakers, President Pezeshkian expressed optimism that his entire cabinet would receive the parliament's endorsement. His confidence was well-placed, as each of his ministerial picks secured the necessary votes.
At the start of the session, President Pezeshkian reiterated his commitment to working closely with parliament, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration between the executive and legislative branches. He urged lawmakers to set aside their differences for the greater good of the nation.
Speaker Mohammad Bagheri Ghalibaf, who presided over the session, called on the President to leave the chamber for the MPs to cast their votes. Following the vote, all proposed ministers were officially confirmed, marking a strong start for President Pezeshkian’s administration. (ILKHA)
