Belarus deploys one third of its army at Ukrainian border
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated on Sunday that Minsk had deployed nearly a third of its armed forces along the entire border as a response to Ukraine’s deployment over 120,000 troops along its frontier with Belarus.
Belarus state news agency Belta reported Lukashenko saying, in an interview with Russian state television, 'Given their aggressive stance, we have deployed our military along the entire border at key points to serve as defense in the event of war.'
Lukashenko stated that Ukrainian drones have continuously violated the Belarusian border and added that the Belarus-Ukraine border is now 'more heavily mined than ever before,' warning that Ukrainian soldiers attempting to cross the border would suffer significant losses.
Belarus strengthened its border with Ukraine last week and accused Ukraine of breaching its airspace during military offensive in the Russia’s Kursk region. (ILKHA)
