Services sector in sees modest growth--TurkStat
Türkiye's services sector expanded by a modest 1.6% on an annual basis in June, according to data released today by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
While some subsectors, such as information and communication, and real estate, showed robust growth, others like accommodation and food services contracted.
On a month-to-month basis, the services production index declined by 1.1% in June, indicating a slowdown in activity compared to May. Transportation and storage, as well as real estate services, were among the key contributors to the monthly decrease.
The mixed performance of the services sector underscores the challenges faced by the Turkish economy. While certain segments continue to show resilience, broader economic conditions are influencing overall growth. (ILKHA)
