Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani, in a statement on his X account on Thursday, condemned the Zionist regime as a racist and terrorist entity that has systematically violated the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people for many years. He noted that these actions, which amount to crimes against humanity, have been carried out with full backing from the West, particularly the U.S. government.

Kanaani stated that Israel's ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of 40,000 innocent Palestinians, including around 15,000 children, and has left over 100,000 people injured in the Gaza Strip. He highlighted that, since the war began in Gaza in October, thousands of Palestinians remain unaccounted for, trapped under rubble.

The spokesperson criticized U.S. officials for labeling Palestinians and resistance groups as terrorists while continuing to express support for Israel despite its actions. He remarked: “Notwithstanding, the US officials shamefully describe Palestinians and resistance groups as 'terrorists' and the US government reaffirms commitment to defending Israel against 'terrorists'!”

Kanaani further argued that through what he described as "absurd and false logic," the U.S. is providing financial, military, and political support to Israel's campaign against Palestinians, which he characterized as genocidal. He stated that this comprehensive support from the U.S. is a disgrace, and that Washington could be held accountable through legal avenues, fulfilling international obligations.

The spokesperson concluded: “The Israeli regime is a racist terrorist regime that has been engaged, during the past several decades, in the flagrant and systematic violation of the primary, natural and human rights of the Palestinian nation and perpetrating crimes against humanity under the fully-fledged support of the West and the US in particular.” (ILKHA)
