Turkish foreign minister meets Iraqi counterpart for talks
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein held a key meeting in Ankara on Thursday to address security issues and enhance counterterrorism cooperation.
The discussions were also attended by Rebar Ahmed, the Interior Minister of the Kurdistan Region, and Falih al-Fayyadh, the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).
The meeting comes ahead of the fourth session of the Türkiye-Iraq High-Level Security Mechanism, aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two countries in combating terrorism and addressing regional security concerns.
Both sides focused on strategies to improve security coordination and advance joint counterterrorism efforts. This dialogue is part of ongoing efforts to address regional stability and enhance bilateral cooperation in security matters.
The upcoming high-level meeting will further explore these issues, building on the discussions held during this preparatory session. (ILKHA)
